June 30 - July 5: Independents Week 2008 Support and celebrate our unique, local independents businesses during Independents Week. Local businesses will display Choose Independents! posters. Join RE Sources for another session of Green Drinks Bellingham every first Wednesday of the month from 5-7 pm to connect with other green thinkers, movers and shakers. Tell all your friends and co-workers to come, too! The location has yet to be determined for this particular month so stay tuned for more information or visit the RE Sources website below to get on our email list. Green Drinks is an organic networking session that started in London, England and has since caught fire around the world. Like-minded individuals in places from Hong Kong to India, Sweden to South Africa meet every month to catch-up, network and talk about the latest green issues. According to greendrinks.org, These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. The best part about Green Drinks is that there is no structure, just good people meeting at a regular place and time. Forest St. B'ham Contact: July 19 (rescheduled to August 23): RE Store 15 Year Anniversary and SLC Grand Opening The RE Store celebrates its 15 year anniversary in unison with the Grand Opening of the Sustainable Living Center on Saturday, July 19th, 2008 from 2-5 P.M. The festivities will include live music, prize drawings, and the RE Golf mini putt-putt course that winds around, up and down throughout the grounds. The new SLC will feature an exhibit on climate change, highlighting our new Be Cool campaign to "stop global warming, now" and highlight our other great programs. In addition, the Recycled Art Station will give visitors a chance to make their own art out of RE Store junk.
