Solar Washington is a private not-for-profit 501(c)3 association of solar energy equipment manufacturers, system
integrators, distributors, dealers, designers, consultants, students, and interested people. Solar Washington is a
chapter of the American Solar Energy Society located in Boulder, Colorado. ASES is the United States Section of
the International Solar Energy Society which headquarters in Germany. Our mission is to promote the development
and effective use of solar and renewable energy and the related arts, sciences, and technologies with concern for
the economic, environmental, and social fabric of Washington State through education.

The Opportunity Council is a local Community Action Agency serving homeless and
low income people. Our programs work to create positive change, both in the lives
of the people we serve and in our community.
Services include:
• Conservation Education: Provides in-home energy audits and customized energy savings plans.
• Weatherization: Increases home energy conservation & efficiency.
• The Energy Project: Raises community awareness about all aspects of energy issues.
• Bulding Performance Center: Home improvement services based in Bellingham; available on a fee-for-
