The Institute Of Noetic Sciences (IONS) Community Group in Bellingham, Washington has been active for the
past 20 plus years and has been guided by several different coordinators during this time. Each of these
leaders has brought their own vision and flavor to thecommunity group and has moved the group in particular
directions depending on their focus. However, the foundation of this community group has always been an
alignment with the purpose, vision and mission of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), which is to
explore consciousness for a world awakening through frontier science, personal inquiry and learning communities.

The Honor Foundation makes a stand and commitment to work with Elders, Teachers, Students, Leaders and Artists
commited to inspiring each other while contributing to a world that we love to live in. Through the use of
indigenous technology throughout the world, we research similiarities of humanity versus the differences.
Gathering insights on what it is to be human beings and the potential of systems, cycles, and patterns for
sustainability on our earth walk. As a foundation, we intend to develop multi-cultural experiences to be
shared in communities and to network with like-minded groups, heart to heart. We are a stand and commitment
for all children of the world through education, science, art, music, dance, literature, ceremony and technology.
Honor Day is based on Natural World Architecture with a Native American Interpretation. Honor Day recognizes the
many contributions made by Native American Indians. It was awakened in a traditional manner, and now serves the
indigenous roots of all people. The development of Honor Day has followed the traditional Hoops of Life.
Interfaith Power and Light (Washington)

Earth Ministry’s Washington Interfaith Power and Light (WAIPL) project organizes an interfaith religious response to
global warming. WAIPL is part of a national Interfaith Power & Light movement that is 28 states strong and growing.
It is led by Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists and the faithful from other traditions across Washington State. WAIPL
works to protect creation and safeguard society’s most vulnerable by providing education about global warming, helping
individuals and congregations reduce their carbon footprints, and advocating for sustainable energy. To accomplish this
mission, we:
- Speak and lead workshops on climate change for faith communities across the state
- Advise on ways to improve energy efficiency in homes, workplaces and houses of worship
- Assist in finding sources of green power and discounts on energy saving products
- Develop educational & spiritual resources for religious communities
- Provide regular updates on state and national climate issues
- Offer workshops, trainings, and advocacy opportunities for people of faith to weigh in on important climate
and energy policies
Individuals and congregations of all faith traditions are welcome to become members of Washington Interfaith Power and Light.
Faith communities seeking membership in WAIPL also sign a "Congregational Covenant" pledging to educate and engage members
on energy and climate issues and commit to faithful stewardship of their energy resources. We’re excited about Washington
Interfaith Power and Light and looking forward to the coming year. There is much work to do, but together we can make a difference.
