The members of the Social Justice Committee would like to invite anyone interested
in learning more about our work to join us for our next committee meeting. If you have an interest in
promoting peace, justice and equal rights, we invite you to join us. If you have an issue of special concern
that you would like to see our congregation address, come and learn how to translate your activism into action
by joining one of our action teams.

Sunday August 26, 2012 at 12:00pm, Sunday January 13, 2013 at 12:30pm.
The Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship is a welcoming and diverse community of individuals
and families. Through fellowship, worship and service, we nurture the personal, spiritual and intellectual
development of our growing congregation and promote respect and compassionate action for all people and our
interdependent world. All who come in the spirit of good will and are in sympathy with the principles of
the Unitarian Universalist Association and covenant of our congregation are encouraged to participate in
the worship, the activities, and the work of the Fellowship.
All members and friends are welcome to join the Social Justice Committee or attend any events.
SOCIAL JUSTICE COLLECTIONS
One Sunday a month, BUF members are invited to give to a Social Justice Collection for a non-profit
organization serving in one of the following areas: women and children, environment, poverty/homelessness, peace and human
rights, social and economic justice, and health. A list of recent and forthcoming recipients and the guiding principles for
Social Justice Collections is posted here. If your organization would like to apply to be the recipient of a Social Justice
Collection, please contact Committee Chair.
SOCIAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
We put our values into action by sponsoring and/or hosting community events and programs. Information
about our ongoing programs may be seen here.. And a description of recent and forthcoming specific events is posted here.
FAIR TRADE PROJECT
Every Sunday, the Social Justice Committee sells Equal Exchange coffee, tea, chocolate and cocoa in
a variety of flavors and at prices at or below local retailers. The profits not only fund the Grand Coffee Hour enjoyed by
members and friends between the services, but also many important Social Justice programs. Read more about the SJ Fair Trade
Project, here.
