Gathering of the Eagles

Hey All!  

Welcome to the 6th Annual Gathering of the Eagles 🦅 Canoe Encampment through the San Juan Islands, May 16-22, 2026.

Our intergenerational intertribal world culture event celebrates with a seven (7) day visit from Anacortes to Lopez, San Juan & Orcas Islands; concluding at Lummi Nation.

The announcement below is for the Lummi Nation landing event at the Stommish Grounds and Wex’liem Community Building on May 22, 2026.

2026 Theme:  Celebrating as Neighbors, Village to Village

Theme Color: Blue (please wear your Blues)

1PM | Canoes final landing • Stommish Grounds

We are anticipating the canoes will be landing about 1:00 pm at the Stommish Grounds off Lummi View Drive.  Of course, that is contingent on the weather.  We will be looking to provide a bag lunch for the pullers and their families (100 people) and will need food donations and volunteers to assemble the bags.  If you are interested in either/or donating food or volunteering time please sign in here:  https://forms.gle/LbrzppMwdnbnowuJ6

3-4PM | Potluck Dinner & Protocol 

We are anticipating about 250 to join us for dinner (including you!) and would appreciate any potluck food donations and volunteers to help with food prep, serving and cleanup.  If you are interested in donating food items or dishes and/or volunteer for helping with the dinner, please sign in here:  https://forms.gle/9PiGhntgAwRKDu4K6.  The dinner will be held in Wex’liem Community Center just up the hill from the Stommish Grounds.

Our dinner is 'Potluck' Potlatch-style, so please bring your favorite dish(s).
