Paddle Call Proposal Submissions Due April 30

Don't miss this opportunity to advocate for the project you would like to see accomplished at BUF in the next year.

Your proposal should include a description of the project and the problem it will solve. Don't forget to include:

  • Your name and the names of other BUFsters who will work on the project.

  • Estimated costs including materials and contractors fees. The more detail, the better!

  • The names of contractors or BUFsters who will be completing the work.

Paper forms are available in the rack beside the Administrator's office. Click HERE to download the form with instructions.

Submit forms by April 30, 2026. You can submit it to any member of the Paddle Call Committee: Gayle Tilles, Jim Shaver, Kathryn Allen, Murray Bennett, and Stephanie Sarver. Or drop it by the BUF office.

Adult RE Class - Options for the Care and Disposition of My Body after I Die: May 3, 12:15 PM - 1:45 PM | Flex Room

Brian Flowers, owner of Wildflower Funeral Concepts, has served Whatcom County as a funeral director and cemeterian for 18 years. He will discuss all forms of body disposition, including aquamation, terramation, green burial, and cremation - all of which are available here in our community. Together, we will explore the ecological implications and meaning making opportunities these options present. Brian’s vision is to heal relationships with death, grief, and nature to create compassionate, sustainable communities intentionally engaged with the work of living. A time for Q & A will follow. No admission fee. All are welcome.

Annual Women’s Retreat: May 15 - 17 | Camp Lutherwood

Step into a weekend of renewal and joy at our 2026 Women’s Retreat, open to all who identify as she/her/they/them. Together we will nurture and replenish ourselves in community, welcome new BUF women into the circle, and strengthen bonds across generations.
