Passcode = BUF

Sunday, August 9, 10:30am, Sanctuary - Guilt, Repentance, and Repair

Rev. Marsha Vollkommer, worship leader with Eleanor Burke, celebrant

Guilt is often used as an excuse, a lack of commitment to change, and can end up being self-serving. That's where the repentance and repair comes in.

Sunday, August 16, 10:30am, Sanctuary - Good Sports

Rev. Barbara ten Hove, worship leader with Tom Nicholas, celebrant

While some progressive folks think sports are violent and not PC, I have learned valuable lessons from my engagement with a variety of sports. It’s worth a look at what sport has to teach us about community, fairness, morality, and yes, even religion.

Sunday, August 23, 10:30am, Sanctuary - Prayer

Tom Nicholas and Steffany Raynes, service leaders

Prayer can be complicated for UUs. In this service, we will try to look at prayer with fresh eyes and explore questions like this: What forms can prayer take? What makes something a prayer? How can prayer help build community?

Sunday, August 30, 10:30am, Sanctuary - Saved from What? Salvation UU Style

Rev. Barbara ten Hove, worship leader with Steffany Raynes, celebrant

When asked, “are you saved?” many UUs cringe and don’t know what to say. What if we said yes? What does UU salvation look like and can we find ways to engage with it?

OWL Registration

If you have a child going into K-1 or 4-6 next fall, OWL program registration is open. Our Whole Lives (OWL) is an award-winning lifespan sexuality education program providing honest, accurate information that dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision making, and has the potential to save lives.

We have 15 spots available to BUF youth in each class. Once the initial 15 spots are filled, anyone interested should use the waitlist form. Spots are limited and registration is now open to non-BUF communities.

ALL REGISTRATION CLOSES Sunday, September 13.
