Chaco Canyon Call to Action: Comments due right now!

From JUUStice Washington (a UU Action Network)

It's absolutely imperative that we get as many people as possible submitting comments in regards to the newest assault on public lands by the current administration. Click HERE to make a comment.

Chaco Canyon, one of the most sacred landscapes in our country, is being targeted for further extractive industry projects and the Bureau of Land Management have given us only 7 days to respond with tomorrow being the deadline—April 7th.

There are two requests out.  One, to voice your opposition to any further violation of Chaco Culture National Historical Park, a national Historic park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a gold-tier International Dark Sky Park.

The second is to voice your concern or outrage at the fact that the administration is only allowing a 7-day commenting period where a minimum of 90 days is allowed for public comment.

The best source I've seen yet that provides a fairly thorough assessment and response to this debacle is from More Than Just Parks, though Indivisible, National Wildlife Federation, National Parks Conservation Assn., Earthworks, Sierra Club and others are putting their efforts behind protecting Chaco Canyon.

Please get your comment in tonight, but no later than mid-day tomorrow.
