Whatcom Faith Community Immigrant Support (WFCIS) Weekly Update

There has been a surge in disappearances by ICE, which has put a strain on families

We are people of faith seeking to support immigrants in Whatcom County. We share the value of celebrating and defending our immigrant neighbors.

THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS, FOR YOUR FAITHFUL SERVICE

The Leadership team wants to recognize all of you who help make food available to our Whatcom neighbors’ week after week! We know that summer brings its own challenges with vacations and visitors. Your time on Tuesdays is deeply appreciated!! Our goal is to always be able to serve families who have emergency needs for food. Your time has ensured that 5 new families in the last two weeks have food and diapers immediately during a family crisis.

Food Donations for Tuesday, June 30, 2026

First Congregational Church

North Entrance Social Hall 10:45 – 11:45

We are using a combination of your donations and purchases with our financial donations to support families. Please consider making the following items priorities next week:

· Eggs

· Cutie oranges

· Queso and mozzarella cheese

We would especially appreciate groups of people signing up to donate large bags of rice or beans once a month that can be divided into smaller bags on Tuesday mornings. Please indicate that as an interest at Whatcomfcis@gmail.com.

Fresh Food Donations from Your Garden

We had remarkable success last summer including fresh vegetables and fruits from your gardens. Please think about donating the extra that you must share. Any produce that is donated needs to be pre-cleaned please as we cannot do that at FCCB.

Supporting our immigrant neighbor is a community effort!
